On April 26th, at 12:00, in Wojewódzka Biblioteka Publiczna w Opolu (ul. Piastowska 18), prof. Jacek Gutorow talked about his book of poetic translations entitled Wygnani z raju. On March 30th, at 10:00, in Room 206 (CM), prof. David Malcolm talked about his prose fiction and read from his books. The meeting was moderated by Jacek Gutorow.

David Malcolm was born in Aberdeen and studied English and German at the universities of Aberdeen, Zürich and London. Professor of English Literature at the University of Gdańsk, he has also taught at universities in the USA and Japan. He is author, co-author, editor, and co-editor of several books on British and Irish fiction and poetry. His translations of Polish and German-language poetry and prose have been published in journals and collections in Britain, the USA, Austria and Poland. He lives in Sopot, and is one of the organizers of the Between.Pomiędzy festival that has been held there each May since 2010. He is the author of a novel (The German Messenger, 2016) and a collection of short stories (Radio Moscow and Other Stories, 2015).
